Works really well on smaller areas, but requires a decent clone tool for larger areas as inconsistencies start to appear.

This would be a nice plug-in for other image editing tools such as The gimp and Faststone Editor as well as commercial products such as zoner Photo Studio and Photoshop (though I'm sure Photoshop already possesses similar plug-ins).

I'd like to see more editing features and the basic image correction tool needs an overhaul. when changing parameters such as brightness, saturation and contrast you can't see the changes until you've applied them. you should be able to see the changes as you move the sliders so that you can get it just right easier.

It would also be useful to be able to drag and drop images onto the work space and maybe include a before and after preview pane rather than just the single pane.

SoftOrbits should create a suite of tools by combining all of their image editing software and other image related programs together into one package (for example the Stamp remover, Remove Logo and picture resizer instead of selling them separately.

The help document is virtually none existent; to get help you have to be on-line and visit the developers web site. It would be nice if the developer included a fully featured help document with links to video tutorials and tips and trick to help novice users.

Finally I’d give the user interface a face lift and enable the user to change the look by adding a color changer and a selection of templates.

Works pretty well even though I prefer INPAINT!!

As for FREE alternative, besides IRFANVIEW, GIMP and FAST STONE EDITOR, I recommend the following 2 apps:

There are lots of comments regarding SoftOrbits Photo Retoucher Personal 1.0 compared to Inpaint.
I have been using the 2009 version of Inpaint 2.3 and like it better than the Inpaint versions which have since come out. Here is my comparison. As a sports photographer, I need to remove extra pucks and balls which are not needed in the photo I'm presently working on. My comparison is for doing this feature only.

Inpaint Pros
- will remove the object on the first try.
- easy to save picture (one click)
When you want to remove a partial object which is behind another object, does a good job at blending. (i.e., partial puck behind a goal post)

Inpaint cons
- need to click around the object and connect the starting and ending dots
- only has one purpose which is to remove the object (highly specialized for this feature)

SoftOrbits Pros
- Does as it says and when an object is removed, it looks as good as Inpaint
- has other useful features such as Image corrector, concealer brush and more which is very useful for what I need a program to do.
- has a drag feature to cover the object more easily done than Inpaint

SoftOrbits cons
- sometimes creates a shadow and takes a second try to get full removal. (The finished result still ends up very good)
- Does not blend well when trying to remove a partial object which is behind another object (i.e., partial puck behind a goal post)
- more clicks and a scroll to save the picture once work is completed.

Final Analysis

Both SoftOrbits and Inpaint do a very good albeit similar work to get to the final product.
Inpaint is slightly quicker from start to finish (save) and SoftOrbits can do more with the entire picture (auto corrections) that Inpaint does not offer.

Both are keepers and should have a place in your picture editing toolbox.

Running Windows Vista Home & XP

Downloaded installed Fine and Registered. Tried the Reg Code on the Site Demo and Registered as Well.
Noticed That when Registration Occured the Program said Thanks for Registering Stamp Remover.

Upon Further Investigation Found that Stamp Remover was Given away on GOTD A few Times.

Here is the Page if any are interested:
GOTD Page For Stamp Remover

On November 18, 2011 It had 566 Thumbs up for 63% that Liked it.
This was the Marketing Paragraph Then:

Photo Stamp Remover is a photo correction utility that can remove watermarks, date stamps, scratches, dust, stains, wrinkles, tears and other unwanted artifacts that appear on photographs.

Offering a fully automatic process, the program uses an intelligent restoration technology to fill the selected area with the texture generated from the pixels around the selection, so that the defect blends into the rest of the image naturally. What takes hours to correct using the clone tool, can be accomplished in a minute using Photo Stamp Remover

It would seem The company has renamed an old software.
The software works fine but is a bit sluggish. Does practically the same as inpaint which also was offered here as well.

These were the Ideas that were suggested by various people here on Stamp Remover on Nov 18 2011:

add support for TIFF, PSD, RAW formats, etc.
132Rebrand it.. watermark removal is legally unsound.
Brand it instead as a Cloning / Healing tool for damaged photographs. It's better for that use anyway as was not very effective at removing the watermarks on my own images I tried it with.
031The (screenshot) clone/stamp of the green grass structure looks really bad if u look closely.
026Make program capable of detecting stamp automatically 018How about something similar for video files? Would be nice to apply it all at once, vs. frame by frame...
017Have the edge blur tool put back in. And allow a way for user to manually fix up small areas.
012A cloning tool would be a nice feature.
03a freehand lassoo would be better than a square/oblong select tool 02Prompt to 'save' or 'save as' if I make changes and then have a brain-fart and go to exit the program without saving 01It would be nice to be able to rotate the image
01say thankyou..it works wonderfully and does a great job
01see the before and after images side by side so I can see the differences. Maybe it's there and I just do not know how to show it. Karen

Thanks GOTD and Softorbit for todays download.

I quite like the program - the spot remover seems to work quite well. Perhaps it's just me, but I'm having trouble keeping track of the little red circle against the colours in my picture. Other than that, it's fun to use.
