No problem installing and registering on XP, and was able to add songs by clicking on them one at a time, but keeps freezing up when I try to add a folder. It also seems I cant add multiple files using shift click - so every file must be clicked to select the list.

It also fails to find songs in sub-folders, despite having this option checked.

In summery I see little use for this software, as I have to find and add each song individually - a search for *.mp3 using "Everything" seems easier and takes about 1 second.

I will have to say hats off to the developers and GOTD for this very powerful and easy to use program.
Installed without a problem on a win7 64 system. Simple copy and paste to register it.

The test I gave it was as follows: Let it run on a 2 tb drive that has a mix of sounds, vinyl (33, 45 78), 4 track, 8 track and reel to reel recordings. Not much in the way of encoding to help it along. Found a little over 12k files, from 0.00 sec to 2:27.20 hrs long, with sizes from 350b on up.

It without fail, found every song by name that had one, found by file name, size, bit rate or any other way that I wanted to group the sound/songs. Also has every option to name, comment, describe your sound/songs with along with getting info from the net about them.

I was able to easily set up the following data bases with it, sounds/songs from 0.00 to 1.23 to <90.00 long, and above. When the program did not have a length of recording, could sort by files sizes.

I am sure someone will say it should have "skins" or able to adjust recordings someway, but that is not what this program is meant to do. I do have several programs that allow me to do that, but this program is well worth their asking price in what it does as a very good database program, with many options and without all the pizazz.

AllMySongs Database is a VB [Visual Basic] app using Microsoft Jet [Wikipedia: http://goo.gl/C5SjR ] as the database engine. It doesn't have a way to import a database from another app you already use, & it doesn't have some of the features of alternatives like MediaMonkey, but it's easy to use & to many people simpler is better -- look at the growing number of Chrome users, with many feeling the browser's simplicity is it's main advantage. I'd expect some folks to feel the same way about AllMySongs Database.

Installation isn't terrible, but if you want your system back exactly as it was after removing AllMySongs Database, you'll need to set a Restore Point in Vista/7, or preferably perform a backup & then restore it. Setup includes at least 19 VB runtime & related files, maybe more [UniExtact will not fully expand the files in Setup.exe so I can't say for sure], that may or may not be installed to Windows system folder, depending on what you have already. Ideally this shouldn't cause any problems, but installing most any VB app can break VB apps you already have installed if they need a different version of one or more of those files [FWIW if you remember win98 you probably also remember DLL H***, where setup files adding the wrong file versions could become a nightmare -- there's even a Wikipedia entry on it http://goo.gl/kpF0o ]. Because the setup routine doesn't know what you have installed (& if so, where), the added VB files remain after uninstalling AllMySongs Database -- IOW if installation breaks some other VB app, removing today's GOTD will not fix it. That said, if you don't have any problems but just want to uninstall AllMySongs Database, the files added to the system folder are very small, so it's most likely not worth your time & trouble finding/deleting them [assuming they're no longer needed].

Besides those VB related files, installing AllMySongs Database adds a setup log file to the Windows folder, along with a uninstall.exe file in a new AllMySongs Database folder. The program's folder & the image file 1.bmp are added to the drive root [C:\] -- old fashioned perhaps, & definitely frowned on, but not the end of the world. The AllMySongs Database program folder holds 63 files, 10 folders, & takes up ~7.5 MB. I recorded 1689 new registry entries in the XP Mode VM, but as those are most all caused by the new VB-related files, mileage will vary depending on what's already there, more so I think in 7 where the different versions of .NET can get involved with VB. Running uninstall removed 36 registry entries, left all the files & 1 folder that had been added to Windows & Windows system folder, left the 1.bmp file, removed the Start Menu & desktop shortcuts, & removed most but not all of the files in the program's folder. Note that the Fotis site talks about running as admin on their troubleshooting page.

Basically it is a Media Manager!!!!!!

Installed and registered fine on Win 7 x64.
Yes, it has good options to manage media files, but as mentioned by some users that it doesn't support some formats

Overall its not bad, but for $23 as there are many Free Alternatives are available out there.

Some better free alternatives and some support Plugins/Extensions:

1. Media Monkey : With Plugins/Extensions support. Presently I'm using it and it also give you option to use Winamp as your player

2: Jaangle is another very good Media Manager with lots of options to customization.

There are others like Song Bird , Winamp which have a good Media Library .

I've been using collectorz for many years, but thought I would download this on to a new computer I have here and to do a comparison.

It installed fine, and I know I haven't had much time to really get to grips with the program, so it may be me just being stupid, but I cannot find a way to import an existing database (ie create an 'export' file in collectorz, and then import it into AllMySongs). Having spent years creating my collectorz database - which incorporates 80,000+ tracks; a large proportion of which are on CDs - if I cannot import the data, then this program is no use.

Shame really, because this looks a tidy enough little program, so I'm hoping someone will tell me that I'm being stupid and I'm just too used to collectorz).
