Hi,
For those people who are unaware of the possibility to convert DOCX to Doc-files (i.e. for people who have Office2003 or older and who can't open newer DOCX files -and newer Excel, and Powerpoint as well):
here's the MS Docx to DOC link:

Hope this is of some use.

The system requirements state that you will need Word 2003 or newer, so your Office 2000 is surely your problem.
Thanks very much for an excellent offering, GOTD and AnyBizSoft. I have tried a number of PDF-to-Word converters, and this is among the best.
I had no problem installing and registering (XP Pro SP2). I did a quick trial on a 6 MB PDF generated from a Word 2007 document with graphics and tables as well as heavily formatted text (not password-protected).
The conversion was very good overall, taking under a minute to produce an editable Word document that looked very similar to the original. The file actually was converted to RTF format, which Word then converted to its DOC or DOCX format.
Tables converted quite well, though some cell text did not left-align perfectly. Graphics (screen shots) converted reasonably well, but there was some loss of resolution. AnyBizSoft did not place all the text in text boxes like some other converters do; on the other hand, you might want that option and AnyBizSoft doesn't give you any options at all. The document was strewn with paragraph marks, section breaks, and column breaks, which could complicate editing, but probably are necessary to position the text and graphics. Hanging indents did not align perfectly, but were pretty close.
Regrettably, I don't have time for more detailed testing, but my first impression of AnyBizSoft is that it is well worth installing today, if you ever have need for a PDF-to-Word converter.
I briefly reviewed some other PDF-to-Word converter software and Web services in post 54 of my utilities blog. Another good alternative is the MediaVigor PDF Converter that was a previous giveaway of the day, but I think today's offering beats them all, even if by a slim margin. (However, I have not tried Solid Converter, which has an excellent reputation but is never given away free; I would be very interested in seeing a comparison from anyone who has tried it.)
I hope this is helpful.
