Buen programa, se tiene que registrar en dos pasos, pero vale la pena, es un programa muy completo, con muchas herramientas. Viene en muchos idiomas, entre ellos castellano y catalán.

A bit of a faff about for the registration.

Need to download (Untick unnecesary add-ons)- Go to website (As per Read-me) - enter email - Read email (Only as far as the first link) and click link - This takes you to website again which AUTOMATICALLY sends your pass key - Back to Email to retrieve - Use cut&paste Then re-open prog and click on HELP - click on register and enter key. THEN you are Fully reg'd.

Interface on program looks nice but will report back on further testing.

I'm not downloading because I bought it. It is a good program, works well and has a good help file. Very safe, always checking that you don't destroy any originals. I have a lot of Ashampoo software and have never had any problems. HTH

Ashampoo Photo Commander 7 is a nice, professionally done app to easily optimize & organize your images. Features include things like adding frames, slide shows etc -- rather than try & list everything, I suggest you check out the Product Fact Sheet [PDF] -- after clicking the link to the product site at the top of the GOTD page, you'll see the Product Fact Sheet link in the upper right [under the download link]. The most important thing to note is that this is not a traditional image editor -- there are no selection tools -- but rather an app geared towards folks who don't want/need to bother with serious editing... put another way, you're not going to do a convincing job of putting the boss's head on another body. :-)

Ashampoo Photo Commander itself is low impact on Windows, with most registry additions limited to a single key under HKCU\Software. The program itself takes up ~70MB with 567 files, 23 folders -- take out the clip-art & extra language files you don't absolutely need & that shrinks to ~17MB in 201 files, 6 folders [for those with limited hdd space]. The Photo Commander developers deserve at least a nod as the app will try & use your graphics hardware to accelerate in-program pans & zooms -- something I think that debuted in Photoshop, & it is & works nice.

Installing today's GOTD is not too much hassle, though many folks will always prefer a more straightforward key in the readme.txt file. You enter an email address on the web page a url in the readme file takes you to, confirm the email address by clicking the link in the 1st email, which gets you a 2nd email with the key, an account password, & links to a few other free apps. The emails were sent near instantly so no problem there, & Ashampoo stores your key(s) with your account in case you lose the original email. Hassle or not, it's just the way Ashampoo works -- take advantage of any of the other free offers, & getting a key works the very same way. And it's *much* better than the *very occasional* GOTD that for whatever reason decides to quit working, & won't let you re-install or re-enter the key. [of course that's NOT GOTD's fault in the least, but the developer's]

All-in-all I have no trouble at all recommending Ashampoo Photo Commander for anyone who wants/needs a quick & easy way to enhance their photos/images without sacrificing quality.

#8: "how does this compare to others like”PHOTO POS PRO” AND “PICASA”?"

There are some tasks, like resizing an image where your results will be pretty much identical, whether you're using Photoshop or Windows built-in Paint. Otherwise, [simplified] for working with images there are 3 types or levels of apps... Those like Photo Commander & the earlier GOTD, Zoner, specialize in quickly & easily making the shots [images] you have, better -- if you have a truly bad shot/image, it probably won't help. At the other end of the spectrum you have apps like Photoshop & The GIMP, where the focus is on creating new compositions, & correcting bad photos -- they'll do the basic enhancements same as Photo Commander, but after you tackle at least some of the learning curve, you'll still not find it as quick & easy. In between you have apps with *some* of the features you'll find in Photoshop, + usually wizards & a simplified GUI [program window] -- they'll let you do general enhancing, like Photo Commander, as well as limited repair/restoration, & you can create new compositions using fewer features/tools. For some folks the wizards can make this category easier to use than Photo Commander, but not as quickly nor with as much flexibility. Image cataloging/mgmt is available in all 3 types of image apps.

Unless you're after some specific feature *only* one app provides, your best bet is picking the app [in whatever category] you like using best. The results won't be dramatically different, so it's more a matter of personal taste rather than one being technically superior to another. I should add that another consideration for some people like myself is the overall impact on Windows -- I won't/don't go near the popular Paint.net for that very reason.

OK used this program a few months ago loved all the features that comes with it has very nice effects ect. but 2 things to keep in mind ashampoo will send alot of emails which you can deactivate by logging in on the ashampoo website and unticking the service letters.. another thing is I use Microsoft Windows Live Gallery I found this program appears to 'Break' it when i was using this program I tried to upload photos that I had edited using photo commander to microsoft however the photos looked good on my computer but when uploaded to windows live gallery the photos appeared as blank file icons unreconised by the site
maybe its a wierd windows 7 64bit glitch I dont know but my advice is keep copies of the original photos just in case
