Reluctant to try at first with so many thumbs down but as most ratings seemed to be made without comment and before any trial could be properly performed decided to try anyway. Glad I did, no problem with Windows 7 64bit, worked well and enough skins to trawl through to get an ideal layout both visually pleasing and displaying everything you could possibly want on a start menu.
Also installed on my older Windows XP machine without problem, the monitor packed up on this machine the other day and had to use a lower resolution monitor which could not display all the programs on the start menu however with Aston Menu problem solved and all programs are now easily accessible until I can replace monitor.
No sign of any system slow down or conflicts. Very easy to return to original start menu, just click settings - exit Aston!
A great program and definitely one to keep, would buy this in the future

I have used this program, in the past, and found no problems with it . I still am confused how some of these programs can create a bad rating , so early after having been released ???

This is much better then that program 7 Start Menu that was being offered not much long ago. I run a netbook with Windows 7 Starter and it works great. Some skins have the weather built into them and you can configure it for your locale. Only 7 pages of skins at the moment but that could expand you never know.

IMHO this is marginally better than Win 7; only because of Microsoft's ridiculous change to the programs submenu and anything that puts it back to the way it was is welcome.
For XP or below, there's very little reason to use this except for the eye candy (that is questionable, at best). SOME skins offer a clock & weather but there are probably better alternatives than this for those features.
Given that this is free now, it is probably better than the always free alternatives out there (in stability) and definitely IS better than the payware alternatives (in resource usage).
So, if you have Win 7 and hate what MS has done to the start menu, try it. Otherwise, don't bother.
