Immediately after installing and before registration - a notice appears that there is an update available to Auslogics File Recovery 7. (I typically shy away from updates of giveaways).
You can click the update and it will download version 7 - then inform you that you must uninstall the previous one - that’s ok, it’s safe.
It will then install to whatever folder the previous version was in automatically. I say this because I never install (giveaway) programs to the default folder.
THEN you register with the key previously provided in your email.

As usual this company have brought some interesting features into the program.

First you choose the drives to be scanned and the type of file to look for, video, music, documents etc.

In the next step you can if you wish set a date range for the files recovered.

And then you can specify filenames if you wish.

And lastly you can specify the type of scan, a deep scan or a quick scan you can also select not to scan zero length files or system files.

On a quick scan it only found two files, it didn't list files that were not deleted thank goodness.

Looks like it could be really useful program, keeping it.
