As a free alternative, I'd recommend TigoTago.
Its spreadsheet - like interface is very clear, enables you to easily set and modify tags and to rename a huge number of files, allows for flexible mass taging and mass renaming operations. You have full control - all changes are visible before you save them to disk. In many cases no typing will be needed when filling tags, since they can by imported from freedb or Discogs online databases. This is especially useful for downloaded files with incomplete or unknown tags/file names (track1, track2, ...)
Its template based renaming helps me to manage unified tag/file name scheme for all files in my music collection.

I am certain this software will be useful for a lot of you, but for me foobar2000 already has the mass-retagging function.
And for those of you who have piles of songs and are obsessed with proper tags for them Picard Tagger is just a miraculous piece of software. It's also free.

"Autumn MP3 Tagger" program crash on Windows XP SP3.
Bug sequence:
- Page "File-Rename Mode"
- Push button "Pattern Manager..."
Free alternative:

- MP3 Tag Editor
- Totally Free Tag Editor
- Cdex
The software has a bug. If you try to access the pattern manager from the option menu it shuts down. That feature is what really interested me so it's not worth it for me if I cannot use it. I am running Win XP.
I don't see a C.D.D.B. feature. This software won't help you in identifying incorrect tags without it. I'll stick with MP3Tag instead. Thanks anyway GAOTD.
