Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 (x32/x64); compatible with any other anti-virus

PeerBlock, PeerGuardian? Both are free and so are the blocklists.

Not sure why anyone should pay $47 for a program that doesn't even work like advertised even when it's actually based on above softwares source codes. And knowing that they crippled even the available features from comparable free PeerBlock/PeerGuardian is even more a reason to skip.

The idea of profiting from the work of others, who gave their time, labor and money on the condition that their work be freely available to all, is repugnant to me. This applies to the blocklists they're using, the open-source code they used to build their application, and the many people who donated cash to keep these projects afloat.
Even most video converter applications are based on OpenSource/non-commercial Freeware, without those "improved" products it wouldn't be such an over-saturated field with nearly non-outstanding products compared all of them with each other.
It's similar to BTGuard and it's MyEn Tunnel codebase, on which it relies, without MyEn Tunnel BTGuard wouldn't even exist and since the original MyEn Tunnel developer won't support "free to commerical" practices where the origin has been tried to hide (removed MyEn Tunnel license file), future development has been stopped so other people will no longer get updated code for free from it's original creator while making money out of it at the same time.
That is where programming evolution stops just because there are companies out there that are too lazy to develop their own products from scratch.

Pros
*Blocks known malicious websites and IP addresses
*According the developer, Bot Revolt has a database of over 1 billion known malicious websites and IP addresses (I cannot verify this claim)
*Monitors both inbound and outbound connections
*Works alongside your anti-virus or anti-malware program with little to no conflict
Cons
*Does not perform as claimed, as per my tests

Ashraf disparages it - and so do I.
It demanded to have a MicroSquelch program installed --> C++ I think it was.
Then when it was installed, the Bot Revolt claimed it was already running - though there was NO evidence that it was in Control panel's "Programs & Features" NOR in Task Manager.
It was totally UNABLE to do a "re-install" on my W7 x64 & I have had no chance to insert the serial number : 28D4-CF01-F00C-789C.
Ashraf - in his commentary - said it needed to be manually started - BUT there ain't no Icon to be found for it anywhere!
Trying to remove any trace of this program seems impossible - I can NOT find any trace of it - nor will "System Restore" wind back the clock to the last restore point - claiming that my anti-virus program is stopping it..... though whether that is the abortionate Bot Revolt OR my long used Grisoft anti-virus program - I just don't know!
My jaundiced view? AVOID BOT REVOLT !!!

6 months only for a poor program like this?? Come on...you must be kidding dude!!
Seems to me more an antiphishing tool rather than a firewall...
So besides Bitdefender Traffic Light, try this brand-new FREE & PORTABLE tool nobody seems to be aware of:

Otherwise just use a solid FREE FIREWALL like PrivateFireall or ZoneAlarm, but to settle things once and for all why not grab
a GREAT FREE SECURITY SUITE software like COMODO INTERNET SECURITY bundled with the award-winning Comodo Firewall?

First this isn't free (only 6 months) and on top of that it doesn't work.
On the website the counter with the so-called blocked IP addresses is just as simple script adding a figure every tenth of a second or so.
//this runs on the page load to intialize the counters
jQuery( document ).ready( function($) {
number:1180084306, formatNumberOptions:
{format:"#,###,###,###",locale:"us"},
end_number:1181950000,
In other words, this seems a scam. I wonder if those Facebook people know their faces are being used?
