This is my first (even remotely) negative review, ever.
Installed okay on XP Pro, but I found the requirement to give my personal email address for further instructions a little annoying, but hey, they are offering software package in return, so (reluctantly) "okay".
I immediately received an email, WHICH DOES NOT CONTAIN REGISTRATION INFO, but rather a link that take me to the author company's webpage.
I hate clicking on links in emails from people I don't know but "okay again".
The web page DOES NOT CONTAIN REGISTRATION INFO, but NOW it says the requested information is being sent.
Checked my email. No info. I received the earlier wild-goose-chase message so I must have typed my email address correctly.
You give them personal email info, and end up with a trial version of a software in return. What happened to the good old days when jumping through multiple hoops was not a requirement? Why can't you just provide the needed info in the readme file?
I've used GAOTD for years and for the very first time,
I feel like a mouse chasing a piece of cheese that keeps getting moved out of reach.
Most users find that type experience VERY annoying. I'm one.
This GOAOTD experience has been very disappointing.
I'm removing this one.
This software needs 3-step activation. After you run the installer it asks to register a e-mail address. Then it sends you an e-mail asking to confirm the e-mail. And then it sends you the activation code.
I did not try burning any discs yet but the CDRWIN seems to be rather light on features, creating boot CD-Rs are not supported if I am not mistaken. The skin is rather ugly too.
I consider it a very bad advice to deactivate the firewall and anti-virus during the install.
Before long users will consider such action as normal and rogue applications can install their spyware parts.
Installing under Win 7 64, requires deactivation of firewall and antivirus. Not for a program I know nothing about, no thanks. There's plenty of other good free burner programs out there that don't require that sort of risk.
I use "www.10minutemail.com" for a temporary mail id and forward the key mail to my gmail id from there.
