As far as I'm concerned, any software that changes my homepage is adware. How rude - and stupid of the developer. Uninstalled without running it.

Really cool software but...AOA Audio Extractor can do everything this can and more. Furthermore, it's COMPLETELY free and light on system resources (I'm jus sayin).

***Works just fine on Vista.
The Good
* Simple and straightforward.
* Can output as MP3, WMA and WAV.
* You can rip audio from whole DVD or specific tracks/chapters.
* You can control bitrate, volume, channel, and frequency of output file.
* You can change the author, genre, album, etc.
* Conversion speed not too bad.
* Not too bad on resource usage either.
* Good output quality.
* Has an option to "shutdown computer after conversions".
The Bad
* You can't choose the name of output file.
* No option to "open output folder" after conversion is done.
* How to "specify the start and end positions of DVD Audio Track"?
* You are not prompted/warned if there is a file with the same name already present in the output folder - it is automatically overwritten.
* During installation your IE homepage is changed to Extra DVD to Audio MP3 Ripper's developer's website.
* Dark text on a medium-to-dark theme = bad.
Registration and installation
It went fine. Just note that it will change your IE homepage to the developer's homepage. This is why you need a program like WinPatrol - to prevent things like homepage changes from occurring.

Works pretty well so far. Have over half of a DVD's audio ripped to mp3 files in separate chapters, and has only been running for a few minutes. Should be great to move onto the iPod to listen to movie audio in the car (something a buddy of mine has been talking about wanting to be able to do recently).
Downsides: Install program changed my primary IE homepage tab to the developer's webpage for this product...not happy about that, at all. Also, DVD preview choppy...which is something I have never experienced on this PC, even while playing a DVD in Media Center and browsing the web at the same time. Although the "skips" in audio that are heard in the preview are not present in the finalized mp3s, it would be annoying nonetheless if one were to need to preview the DVD constantly to search for specific chapters to rip.
Beyond that, however, this program seems to do exactly what it describes.
