Today's GAOTD offer by TeoreX is Folderico 2.0 (current version)
and
Shedko offers Folderico 4.0 RC12 (current version) as Freeware available at http://eng.softq.org/folderico
These developers have no relationship to one another.
So looking and comparing the websites from folderIco and the Shedko folderIco as mentioned by NYB, I'm finding no differences. Well, OK, there are 2 differences. Shedko FolderIco was copyrighted in 2006-2007 under Shedko software, Belarus, where this giveaway is copyrighted 2014. Shedko is free, this one is $9.99 for a limited time offer. Tried them both, and I'm not seeing any differences at all in function or layout, maybe a couple colors are switched or something I missed. Anyone finding a difference or is this giveaway basically an almost exact copy of the other one? Or is this the same company that just changed a website around to make it look like a different product so they could charge? I didn't do any in depth testing of either, but it's not something I would really use. NYB's comment just made me curious enough to check them out
Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit system.
Folder Icon does not install a task, you have to right click on a directory and then you can change the symbol to different colors or different "work" symbols.
This is done without problems. For those, who think that more colors in the folders means better organized, a good solution from a reliable producer (Theorex without name and address)
I prefer to give folders useful names, because in my age I simply forget, what was the reason for changing to red, green, blue, orange, azure, pink, violet, white or black and grey, and lemon or brown. And if I need different icon for high priority, normal priority or low priority folder, I have made something wrong in my task planning beforehand.
Uninstalled via reboot, after changing some directories to a full colored rainbow.
Did I mention, that you can do with your windows properties since ages?
Same name as Shedco Software *free* FolderIco ?

I downloaded this program from GOTD over a year ago, and found it very useful a great help in organising my folders. Easy and quick to use, and still working without any hitches all this time. I would highly recommend this little program.
It doesn't work in my XP OS and it's a pity.
The option "Change icon menu" doesn't appear when right click on the mouse. Is there any other way for changing the color folder?
It functions perfectly on W7.
Thanks.
