This installed OK and activated. I have not managed to explore the software much because SpyShelter warns me that JSONBuddy is trying to take a screen shot of my computer. I've done nothing with JSONBuddy that would lead to this request. I do not like this happening, so I have denied it and closed JSONBuddy.
I'll come back to it later on when I have more time, but my initial impression is very unfavourable because it tried to take a screen shot. What I have on my screen is my business, not some software developer's!

Clemens, thanks for the quick reply. I will try your software again later today. It could be a false positive that SpyShelter warned me about. I will say though that I cannot remember SpyShelter making similar false warnings before.
When it happened I clicked on 'Deny' in SpyShelter, but I unchecked the box for it to remember this action, it instantly asked me again whether or not to allow a sceenshot, I denied this, it happened again and again until I closed JSONBuddy.

I work for a bank in the IT department and we were told that JSON is not safe in any system that uses cookies for authentication, therefore we switched to XML scripts. JSON can be fooled by hackers to direct its content to hacker's servers too, where the content can be seen at the same time.
The problem is Java run time that is not aware of the JSON owner and allows a direct tap of its current content to anyone requesting the script.
