Confused ! I have PPT2DVD Pro version 4.6 downloaded from GOTD in 2015 and very satisfied about it. But current version seems to be 2.8. What' s in the numbers? To understand, I went on the Leaweo site and found PPT2Video Pro under the tab Video at 24.95$, and PPT2DVD under the tab DVD at 79.95$. Why such a price difference just for a DVD burning extension available fror free on the web ?

Downloaded, installed, and registered without any hitches. One thing that would make the program more usable for me would be if the program window would be adaptive to the resolution being used on the computer screen. At my regular resolution of 1920 by 1080 the program window is super tiny and does not appear to be re-sizable to allow for it to be more likely that I would be working with the program on a regular basis.

OK since no one else seems to have done a review of how this actually works here's a short one.

The user interface is of a custom design, it uses non-standard GUI components so no context menu in task bar entry or title bar, no maximise or window resize.

It can use various versions of powerpoint to internally parse and render the powerpoint presentation files AND it can use the free microsoft powerpoint viewers too, so one does NOT have to have MS Office installed to use this.

It uses a selection of preset profiles to initially define the output video formats which can be customised to some extent and saved as customised profile presets with a maximum output video resolution of 2048x2048 pixel so no UHD/4K output video in this version. Close but not quite.

The final encoding phase is multi-core aware and can max out multiple cores during encoding.

Output video works fine on the trials I did. It is a keeper if your display resolution is not so great that it renders the GUI as unusably tiny.

Oh and so far the license has lasted since July last year so no concerns about it de-activating itself like some other giveaways have done.

I don't understand the usefulness of this software. PowerPoint exports to video already and does a good job of it so why is this needed?

Just ran the installer and it is installing the exact same version as last years giveaway, so if you missed the giveaway then and want a good powerpoint to video converter now's your chance.

The install problems mentioned in earlier comments are down to the themidia setup wrapper and the entire wrappers operation being disabled by various 3rd party generally overzealous security products disabling windows features that themidia needs to work rather than a conventional false positive detection. GAOTD did at least once provide instructions in the readme about this and it did reduce the number of complaints/enquireies here in the comments section but they have since removed that section from the readme.txt file and the complaints have returned.
