PowerArchiver is the most famous archiving application & the PowerArchiver 2017 Toolbox is the best version which includes all features from Standard and Professional version! PowerArchiver has been around for like 18 years & more, which I have used from 2015 around. This current 2017 version is a major upgrade in terms of features & support.

Reason I started using this program more because of full support with win10. Current version is compatible with win7-win10 & even supports old XP & other versions, with UAC elevation & VSS support, taskbar progress, taskbar icon overlays & jump lists. The developers are well dedicated to test & regularly release updates to fix minor bugs. But the ease of using an app without too many fuss for win10 is a major reason why I like it so much.

PowerArchiver is feature-rich & Toolbox is even greater. It has a classic skin but those who want different skins there are many built in skins for all users. These are present under view menu.
Color coded status bar gives all information about the process, files opened, select de-select options etc.
PowerArchiver Virtual DVD drive to open ISO files & full CD/DVD/Blu-Ray Burner to use the function to make OS discs. No need for other program to burn any data and create iso files.
Advanced Explorer mode with dual panel interface - to make file management easier.
OpenPGP Key Manager - to create or add new OpenPGP keys. Excellent feature.
My current 2017 version has Multicore compression(with multicure deflaq Zip engine) and fastest RAR extraction. Its claimed to be 4 times faster & I found no exaggeration in use. The pdf & .docx files are compressed at nearly 50% better than any other archive program like WinRAR or 7zip.

Improved 7zip support with multicore support and 64bit support for better memory usage.
PowerArchiver is the only application that supports Winzip 15 and earlier files, while providing faster (up to 3x) and stronger compression compared to WinZip 15, it includes compatibility with all advanced ZIPX format – LZMA, LZMA2, JPEG, PPMd, BZIP2 and WAVPACK in ZIP/ZIPX.
I liked the unique feature of JPEG support – Unique and rare support for extraction of ZIPX JPEG compression created by WinZIP.
PowerArchiver brought unmatched Security and FIPS 140-2 validation with introducing 5 types of encryption by offering its proprietary PAE and PAE2 standards for additional security. There is option to disable encryption & select whichever is needed.
ConeXware updates use PatchBeam updater service for smooth update of PowerArchiver Toolbox.
PowerArchiver Backup w/ VSS & can send files to FTP/SFTP server. A special Zip To Email Premium Email plugin is included.

Overall I can conclude the 2017 version is a major upgrade with lots of added features, some newly implemented ideas & some addition of user suggested options. PowerArchiver has an excellent forum & developers give good attention to all details, suggestions or feature requests. The program itself is great, it lets you lets you easily manage, archive, encrypt and decrypt files, supports cloud services, FTP upload and download. Its well recommended.
