Excellent tool today, despite its ridiculous low rating...
It lets you record and edit audio tracks in WAV, MP3, OGG, CDA and RAW formats, by importing them from file or disc (supports "drag and drop" method, as well).
Perfect tool for editing tasks like cut and copy a selection of an audio track, trim the start or end of the audio file; can even insert silence or another file inside an audio track and apply several effects to it (echo, vibrato, amplify, fade, compressor, envelope, chorus, reverb, flanger, pitch change and noise reduction).
Furthermore, with this tool you can also analyze the frequency rate (and convert it if necessary), and even use a text-to-speech tool, a feature not present in most freeware and even shareware alternatives out there.
Bottom line ==> Great tool for audio ediding (not for noobs though!!)

An Excellent freeware substitue is WaveShop, available via the SourceForge site and comes in both 64-bit and 32-bit.
It is described as "a bit-perfect audio editor that doesn't modify samples needlessly."

Everyone will mention all the better freeware on the web. But have the couple of people above even tested this program? I've had a quick look at it because audacity is about the easiest to use. One unusual feature that i've seen is the text to speech. This program will take a bit of getting used to, but it's always worth keeping a little program like this, you never know when you may need it. I'll keep it just in case but wouldn't pay for it.
