The Good
* Straightforward and easy to use.
* Allows users to work in two modes - "Simple" and "Explorer".
* Provides users with a handful of categories to use to reorganize the start menu, and gives users the ability to create their own.
* Comes with a handful of supplementary features: adding icons to start menu folders, adding uninstall quick-links to right-click context menus, and searching for and removing broken shortcuts.
* Can backup/restore the start menu and import/export the start menu as XML files.
* Gives users the ability to organize the start menu of all Windows' users' accounts.
The Bad
* There is no way to “undo” the deletion of a category.
* All the entries placed in a category are deleted upon the deletion of a category – no way to automatically remove the entries after deletion so they can be placed in another category.
* No option in “Explorer Mode” to move start menu entries instead of copying them.

Sorry - don't see the point of this?
I have five folders in my Start Menu, (Business, Graphics, Utilities, Personal, Music), and every related shortcut goes into the relevant sub menu. Some submenus even have their own submenus, making navigation simple and exactly as I want it
All versions of Windows have allowed this, (now using Vista and Window 7 on my computers), and never used it any other way.
Why do you want a program to do it?

I tried the freeware version of Tidy Start Menu but it does not allow you to create your own menu categories like "Photo Programs" or "Video Downloaders" so I had to buy the premium version for $19.95 which is the program offered today for FREE.
I had so many entries in my XP PRO's "all programs" group that I could no longer see past the letter "P". Using Tidy Menu I now have only 2 columns with sub-groups that I have chosen listed in those two columns. There was no other way I could have ever straightened out my menu without this software and it has worked perfectly and easily. I tried others, but nothing compared. I am totally satisfied even though I bought it three months ago!
Grab it while it is FREE. If you have as many programs as I do from downloading the great offers here at GAOTD, there is no way you can find them all without this software.
I went into this detail so you would know that it had to be great for cheapskate me to have actually spent buckaroos on it and to convince you that I did not demand my money back as they guarantee if you are not satisfied. I was COMPLETELY satisfied.
They also have a program called TIDY FAVORITES which I later purchased to organize my favorites in IE8 and Firefox. Also well worth the money I paid for it because it's search function is unbelievably fast. Obviously, this company writes great software and doesn't leave it to us to find the bugs, there are none.
Thank you Ordinary Soft and GAOTD! Now I can download this and add it to my laptop and wife's computer without buying additional licenses! (I did say I was a cheapskate!!!)

I can see how this software may be very useful to people who are newbies to windows, but a simple right click to the start button, then explore all users, opens an explorer window where you can create as many new folders (named as you like), Then cut and paste programs of relevance into the folders to tidy them up as I presume this normally payware is trying to simplify? I for one am mystified as to how much easier another running program can simplify what's already built into the system?

Funny, but my start menu already looks like the "after" screenshot on their website. It really takes very little effort to do this yourself. Doesn't cost anything, either. Why would you pay for it?
