Today's giveaway looks like an excellent tool to me although the converter side isn't as good as the Video Downloader (but you can easily replace it by using awesome FREE converter tools like FORMAT FACTORY and/or iWisoft Free Video Converter).
So THUMBS UP from me with some reservations though!!!
However, for a more comprehensive video & audio recorder utility, my recommendation is to use a FREE GEM called “FreeCorder4″ by Applian!!

Giovanni, one of the things you might consider warning people about is that some of those items you recommend, though maybe good in operation, have many additional "add-ons" that tend to breach privacy. FreeCorder4 is one of those.

This is the only video downloader I kept after trying many.
The converter isn't as good, but I noticed this: sometimes a host changes its pages and the download does not work anymore. After one or two days this Videoget downloads an update and the download works again. This tells me that there is actual people working on it and keeping this program really up to date.
For video conversions I'm using Aiseesoft given away a few months ago that does a really good job.

Downloaded and installed fine on Win7/64/Pro. Does what it says on the tin, its a keeper for me although i did stop it autoupdating just in case.
I would like to know the differences between the program on the web and this, the giveawayoftheday version.
